Priyamal Perera struck a dream career-best 212 as Police SC amassed 463 against Moors SC who were 130 for 4 on the second day of their Sri Lanka Cricket Major League Super Eight match at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Perera struck 25 boundaries and a six in putting the Moors SC attack to try the sword.
Other contributors were Supun Madushanka 65, skipper Ashen Bandara 60 and Nalin Priyadarshana 57.
Moors SCs innings was anchored by Pasindu Sooriyabandara who remained unbeaten on 43 facing a further 333 first innings deficit.
Meanwhile, CCCs Sri Lanka Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva continued his thick run vein following up his double century versus BRC last week with a fine 63 followed by Pavan Rathnayake 51 but their side was reduced to 200 for 7 still 131 in arrears of Ace Capital CCs first innings 331 at the Colts Grounds.
Ace Capital’s high score revolved around half centuries by Ranesh Silva’s 76 Supun Waduge 71 and Pawantha Weerasinghe 51 with Raveen de Silva making 49.
Former test captain Angelo Mathews too continued to hog the limelight away from quitting international cricket in flogging a powerful 144 in the wake of his match winning half century last week as Colts CC ran up 463 against BRC at NCC Grounds. Another Sri Lanka veteran Dinesh Chandimal contributed with a rousing 67.
BRC made a strong reply of 198 for 4 at stumps with Hashan Dumindu leading the way with an unbeaten 86 followed by former test batsman Roshen Silva 44.
