Kandy rose from the glut of a 227 first innings deficit to Dambulla’s enormous 451on an overnight 224 for 6 with Ashen Bandara taking up the challenge from an overnight 11 in stroking a fighting 94 in tha cometh the hour, cometh the man true to potential innings in batting his side out of the woods to an equitable 366 with Wanuja Sahan, the other overnight batsman contributing a plucky 25 to forcing an honourable draw yesterday at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
Dambulla were 110 for 3 in their second innings in that ending of their SLC Super League match as the tournament looked at a Dambulla versus final by virtue of leading the points table on a high of 35.94 points to Colombo’s 19.168.
