Colombo ran up a second innings high of158 for 3 wickets on half centuries by Dhananjaya Lakshan 59 and Ranesh Silva 52 for an overall 222 lead after dismissing Galle for 273 by the third day to push for a win on the final day in their SLC National Super League 4-day fixture at the Rangiri International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Galle’s mainstay was again Sadeera Samarawickrama with a compact 69 in a continuation of his pleasing form as he followed up a solid century last week while Muditha Lakshan lent essence of a half century. exactly 50 to prop up the total as Colombo’s Pramod Madushan claimed 4 wickets for 36 well supported by Chamod Battage 3 for 35 and Kavija Gamage 2 for 50 wrested their side an useful first innings lead.
