The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) successfully concluded its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 22 August 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, with representatives of all member countries in attendance.
The AGM unanimously elected and appointed Mr. Khalid Alzarooni as the new ACC Vice President. Executive Board members representing Non-Test Playing Full Members and Associate Members were also elected and duly appointed, along with members of the ACC’s various committees.
In a significant governance decision, the members approved the inclusion of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) among the Test Playing Full Members eligible for the ACC Presidency. This expands the existing rotational framework, which had previously been limited to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India.
The decision marks an important step in strengthening the ACC’s governance framework and ensuring broader representation among its Test Playing Full Members.
