SLC Reds skipper Dinesh Chandimal struck a workmanlike 44-ball 59 in registering his second consecutive half century in steering his side to an emphatic 6-wicket win over SLC Blues with an over to spare in the seventh match of the SLC Invitational T20 League Tournament yesterday. Chandimal infused typical run grafting craft striking 6 boundaries as the Reds reached 148 for 4 off 19 overs in reply to the Blues 146 for 7 ofrf 20 overs. Dhananjaya Lakshan top scored for the Blues with 55 off 47 inclusive of 6 boundaries. Lahiru Sanarakoon made 35 off 21 with 4 boundaries and a six.
Meanwhile, SLC Greys skipper Dasun Shanaka livened up the tournament with a match winning cameo 55 off 22 balls (5×4, 3×6) while opener KIamil Mishara struck a 24-ball 46 (7×4, 1×6) in a total of 137 for 3 defeating SLC Greens by 4 runs on the D/L in a rain reduced 10-over affair of the eighth match of the tournament at the Pallekelle International Stadium yesterday.
SLC Greens, set 74 to win off 5.3 overs managed 69 for 3 with Lahiru Udara nmaking 33 off 10 with 5 boundaries and 2 sixes and Pathum Nissanka 21 off 12 with 3 boundaries,
