SLC Greys emerged champions of the Sri Lanka Cricket Invitational T20 League Tournament defeating SLC Reds by 42 runs in the final last night at the Pallekelle International Stadium. The Greys rattled an imposing total of 201 runs for 4 wickets with opening batsman Minod Bhanuka leading the way with a51-ball 74 inclusive of 12 boundaries with skipper Dasun Shanaka striking a 17-ball 48-run cameo laced with 4 sixes and 4 boundaries and Nuwanidu Fernando 47 off 36 containing 5 boundaries.
SLC Reds were dismissed for 159 off 19.4 overswith Nuwan Pradeeps returning fine figures of 2 for 17 and Matheesha Pathirana 2 for 28. Oshada Fernando top scored with 46 off 27 Balls with 3 sixes and boundaries apiece with Akila Dananjaya making a 13-ball 25 with 3 boundaries and a six and Asela Gunaratne 22 off 21 with 3 boundaries.
The winners pocketed Rs.1 million prize money.
