Skipper Chamari Atapattu led from the front smashing a cameo 70-ball 111 in leading Sri Lanka to an emphatic 34-run triumph over Netherlands on the D/L method in an ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifier Group A match played in Harare on Tuesday.
Sri Lanka Women rattled up an imposing 278 for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs and restricted the Netherlands Women to 196 for 6 in 43.4 overs in the rain affected match that went to the D/L equation. Babette de Leede top scored for the Netherlands Women with 78 off 99 balls striking 8 boundaries while Sterre Kalis made 68 off 96 inclusive of 6 boundaries.
Oshadi Ranasinghe was the pick of the bowlers for the Lankan Women with 2 for 36.
