Shashikala Siriwardena 43 plus 2/26 and Inoka Ranaweera 4/27 the stars

Sri Lanka Navy Women’s Cricket Team defeated Army A by two wickets in the final to emerge champions of the Sri Lanka Cricket Inter Club Division I Women’s One Day Cricket Championship at the Navy Cricket Grounds, Welisara recently.

Navy Women made 139 for 8 wickets in 48.2 overs in reply to Army A’s 138 for 9 in 50 overs. They remained unbeaten winning all seven matches in the league tournament competed by eight teams. Navy Women topped the points table as well with 33 points.

Shashikala Siriwardena top scored for the winners with 43 followed by Harshani Wijerathna 21, and Udeshika Prabodani 20 not out.  The outstanding bowlers who rattled Army A were Inoka Ranaweera who picked 4 for 27, Shashikala Siriwardana 2 for 26 and Sathya Sandeepani 2 for 26.
