Malsha Shehani produced an incredible bowling spell of 4 for 2 to spearhead Sri Lanka Women to a resounding 72-run win over Malaysia Women in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022-23 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium yesterday. In reply to Sri Lanka’s total of 105 for 7 off 20 overs, Malaysia folded up for 33 as the Lankan attack cut holes through the batting line up with 7 batters sent back for ducks. Malsha was well supported by Inoka Ranaweera who took 2 for 8 and Sugandika Kumari 2 for 11.
Oshadi Ranasinghe top scored for Sri Lanka Women with an unbeaten 23 with skipper Chamari Athapattu and Nilakshi de Silva scoring 21 each followed by Malsha Shehani’s 14 to cap a superb all round performance.
