Australia defeats Sri Lanka by 7 wickets propelled by skipper Lucy Hamilton 56 n.o.

U19 WOMEN’S TRI-NATION TOURNEY

Australia defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets propelled by an unbeaten 56 by skipper Lucy Hamilton in making 133 for 3 on the stroke of 20 overs in reply to the host team’s 133 for 7 in 20 overs in an Under 19 Women’s Tri Nation T-20 Tournament fixture played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Taking first lease, the Lankan lasses totaled a game 132 for 7 wickets with opener Sanjana Kavindi leading the way with a top score of 39 off 29 balls hitting 8 boundaries. Skipper Manudi Nanayakkara made a run a ball 19 inclusive of 3 boundaries.

Australia’s main wicket takers were Juliette Morton 2 for 12 and Maggie Clark 2 for 18.

Sri Lanka won the first game against the Australians.
