Sri Lankan lasses thrash England counterparts by 108 to emerge second

WOMEN’S U19 TRI NATION TOURNEY

 Sri Lanka Under-19 Women pulled off a superb 108-run triumph over England U19 Women at the Galle International Cricket Stadium yesterday to be placed second next to Australia in the Tri Nation ODI Tournament hosted by Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan lasses batting first totaled 226 in 48.4 overs and the bowlers performed superbly in bowling out their opponents for 118 in just 23.3 overs with Chamodi Munasinghe reaping 5 wickets for 42 runs and Dewmi Wijeratne 4 for 43.

Sri Lanka’s top scorer was Rashmika Sewwandi who played a sustained run a ball 59 packed with 9 boundaries. Dewmi Wijeratna contributed 25 to cap a fine all-round performance by her dominance over England with the ball.
