West Indies Women came from behind after being led 1-0 to shock hosts Sri Lanka Women by a 2-1 series triumph of the T20 3-match series winning the final game yesterday by 6 wickets at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
The visitors scored 142 for 4 off 19.5 overs in going past the Lankans 141 for 7 in 20 overs. Hayley Matthews was the West Indies mainstay scoring 49 followed by Shamaine Campbell 41 not out and Stefanie Taylor 33.
Sri Lanka’s innings revolved around skipper Chamari Athapaththu 38, Harshitha Samarawickrama 28 and Kavisha Dilhari 26. Hayley Matthews was adjudged Player of the Series, while Shamaine Campbell was the Player of the Match.
