Hosts Sri Lanka crushed Thailand by 10 wickets with 51 balls to spare racing to 94 for no loss having restricted their Group B opponents to 93 to heading the group with 6 points from 3 matches of the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Lankan captain Chamari Athapathth struck a Player of the Match 49 off 35 hitting 4 sixes and 2 boundaries while Vishmi Gunaratne was on 39 off 34 inclusive of 4 boundaries and a six.
Only No.3 wicket-keeper batter Nannapat Koncharoenkai resisted the Lankan attack carrying her bat for a score of 47 off 53 hitting 5 boundaries after Thailand Women batted on winning the toss.
