Sri Lanka A Women have already pocketed the 3 match T20 series against their Bangladesh counterparts having defeated the visiting team in the first two games with the final one to be played today at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Their success in the galvanising short format of cricket driven home by a 56 run win in the second gsme at the same venue a day ago was a comeback sweet revenge over their opponents having conceded the rain affected ODI series by losing the final game with the first two rain abandoned.
Having run up a challenging 152 for 5 wickets batting first on a cornerstone top score of 57 off 59 balls by opening batter Vidhmi Gunaratne, the Lankan lasses ran circles around the Kiwis who were shot out for 96 in 19.5 overs.
Gunaratne’s innings contained 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.
The Kiwis were so laid down by the Lankan bowlers with Hannah Row managing just 28 a highest score followed by Emma Black 20. Dewmi Vihanga was the Kiwis tormentor claiming 3 wickets for just 19 runs in 3.5 overs well backed by Chamudi Praboda 2 for 15.
