7th in current ODI Batting Rankings

Sri Lanka ODI Captain Charith Asalanka continues to be in the limelight in the 7th spot among the top 10 of ICC ODI Batting Rankings.
With a 734 rating, the Lankan captain is ahead of Harry Trector 8th, Shreyas Iyer 9th and Shai Hope 10th while Sri Lankans Kusal Mendis with rating of 690 and Pathum Nissanka 654 at 11th and 12th respectively followed by Travis Head 653.
Twenty eight year old Charith Asalanka remains Sri Lanka’s most explosive ODI batsman despite a recent lean run with his series winning home exploits driven by a brilliant century and half century in batting Sri Lanka out of a rut in two series turning games underwriting his value as typical playmaker man in a crisis.
He has scored 2621 runs in the format with a turn around highest of 127 against Australia stand out in lifting the side from the dire.
He counts 5 centuries and 17 half centuries to boot with a 91.35 strike rate and 43.68 average.
